I might end up expanding this into my lore headcanon with nokko and nightcap.

Pretty much my headcanon based on what lore was given: nokko essentially sacrificed himself to bring Nightcap back to life, tying him in with the network of the 'roots and fruits'. Seeing as nokko is an embodiment of life flourishing through death, he is reborn as a sprodling.

Said sprodling can be found happily bouncing around in nightcap's hangout. He is much smaller than the other sprodlings found there. Nightcap doesnt know that the friend he knew and adored is now 'gone', not realizing he is now Nokko's caretaker. (End headcanon)
