Our budget increases education cost sharing by $135 million. That’s in addition to the $720 million in federal resources still to be invested in education over the next two years.

OPM Secretary Jeffrey Beckham today sent the Aug 2022 expenditure and revenue estimates to @compbraswell regarding the state’s General Fund and Special Transportation Fund for FY 2023. OPM estimates that, in aggregate, the FY 2023 budget is balanced.

Areas of extreme drought have now expanded across E MA, covers RI & is into E CT as well. Released today w/ data through Tues 8am. Not a good look - esp w/ the big underperformer yesterday & no widespread soakings on the horizon. Hoping for some rain early next week.

The State Interagency Drought Working Group met yesterday and decided to keep the current Stage 2 drought conditions for the entire state. Residents should follow the advice of their local water company and/or municipality regarding water restrictions.
