Below average #rainfall at the end of 2019 led to drought conditions over Southern Africa (plot from CHIRPS @climatehazards). Standardised Precipitation Index (SPI) is used to characterise meteorological drought.
This week heavy #rainfall has led to #flooding (via @Flood_List).
