Similar story. In 10th class, I had a science teacher who was totally against students sharing textbooks for some reason.
One day, I'd forgotten my book so I was looking into my classmate's book (also my lifelong rakhi sister). He looks at me and goes "Do y'all share other stuff too". It got a few giggles. I usually don't take such comments lightly, but I was too dumbfounded to reply. Obviously, the girl was embarrassed as well.
Long story short, he's quadriplegic now. He's barely 40. Very well deserved.
Any old classmate who tries to feel bad for him, I hit them with this story and say that he more than deserves it. Sorry, not sorry.
