While many Michiganders were sleeping, more than 600 Consumers Energy crews were out restoring power across the state.
Overnight, crews restored service to more than 50,000 customers following heavy rain, thunderstorms, flooding, and damaging winds. And with another round of severe weather — including the potential for tornadoes — expected today, our teams are already positioning resources where they'll be needed most.
Thank you for your patience as crews continue working around the clock to safely restore power to affected communities.
⚠️ As storms move through Michigan today, please stay alert and put safety first:
• Never approach a downed power line.
• Stay at least 25 feet away from any downed line.
• Report unguarded downed power lines by calling 9-1-1 and Consumers Energy at 800-477-5050.
• Use extra caution around flooded roads, broken tree limbs, and storm debris.
We'll continue sharing updates as conditions change. Stay safe, Michigan.
