We know many of you are without power, dealing with disrupted routines, missed plans, and uncertainty about when service will be restored. We understand how difficult that can be, especially as more severe weather is expected. We thank you for your patience. Our crews have been working around the clock since the storms moved through. More than 700 crews remain in the field repairing damage and restoring service as safely and quickly as possible. For those still waiting, please know we haven't forgotten about you. Every outage matters, and our teams will continue working until every customer's power is restored. With another round of storms expected this evening, your safety remains our top priority. Please remember: ⚡Stay clear of downed power lines. Always keep a safe distance. If you see a downed line, call 9-1-1 first, then notify us. 👷 Give crews space. If you see workers along the roadside, please slow down and move over whenever possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We're honored to serve Michigan and will continue working day and night to restore power to our communities. 💙

While many Michiganders were sleeping, more than 600 Consumers Energy crews were out restoring power across the state. Overnight, crews restored service to more than 50,000 customers following heavy rain, thunderstorms, flooding, and damaging winds. And with another round of severe weather — including the potential for tornadoes — expected today, our teams are already positioning resources where they'll be needed most. Thank you for your patience as crews continue working around the clock to safely restore power to affected communities. ⚠️ As storms move through Michigan today, please stay alert and put safety first: • Never approach a downed power line. • Stay at least 25 feet away from any downed line. • Report unguarded downed power lines by calling 9-1-1 and Consumers Energy at 800-477-5050. • Use extra caution around flooded roads, broken tree limbs, and storm debris. We'll continue sharing updates as conditions change. Stay safe, Michigan.

Our eyes are on the skies as crews prepare for another round of intense summer weather expected to impact Michigan over the next few days. After at least two confirmed tornadoes touched down yesterday, we’re closely monitoring conditions as temperatures in the upper 80s and 90s set the stage for evening storms with the potential for damaging winds, hail, localized flooding, and more isolated tornadoes. Now is the time to prepare: ➡️Charge phone, batteries, and other electronics ➡️Restock your emergency kit with essentials ➡️Secure outdoor furniture and loose items that could become dangerous in high winds ➡️Review your family’s severe weather plan and stay weather aware No matter what Mother Nature brings, our crews are ready to step up for Michigan and respond safely and quickly when storms move through this evening.

☀️ It may not officially be summer yet, but Michigan's warmer temperatures, rising humidity, and the potential for thunderstorms are already making themselves known. With forecasts calling for rain and storms across the state this week, now is a great time to take a few simple steps to stay safe and prepared. Here are a few quick tips: 🏛️ Need to cool off? Visit a local library, shopping mall, community center, or cooling center. Find a cooling center near you by visiting mi211.org and searching "cooling centers" with your ZIP code. 🔋 Charge phones, medical devices, and other essential electronics ahead of time. Having a backup battery or charging station on hand can help you stay connected if severe weather causes outages. 🧰 Build or refresh your emergency kit with essentials like water, flashlights, batteries, medications, nonperishable food, baby supplies, pet food, and a battery-powered radio. A little preparation today can go a long way when summer heat and storms arrive. Stay safe, stay cool, and enjoy everything Michigan has to offer this season.

When it comes to severe weather, our crews give 100% from the storm center to the field. This week, with a threat of severe storms in the forecast, we want to remind you of these important storm safety tips: ⚠️Be alert to crews working along roadsides. Drivers should slow down or stop and wait for oncoming traffic to clear so they can go safely past.   ⚡Stay at least 25 feet away from downed power lines, and report unguarded downed lines by calling 9-1-1 and Consumers Energy at 800-477-5050. 🪫Never use a generator in an attached garage, basement, enclosed patio or near any air intakes. Doing so could cause a generator to produce hazardous levels of carbon monoxide, an odorless, colorless and deadly gas.  Michigan, you can count on us today, and every day this storm season to keep you safe and powered up, no matter the weather.
