Yzerman speaks like a man that does not have a boss. He a Detroit dictator. Like it or not. He’s not going anywhere. If we aren’t competing for a cup by 2030. Then he may be out as GM. If you can’t make it to the Stanley Cup final in 10 years, you need to resign & retire.

Can a whole season w/ the Todfather at the helm propel the wings into a playoff spot? In this scenario I am talking about minor roster tweaks No big UFA signings

In theory I agree w/ you
If the wings can somehow get into the playoffs w/o signin a top UFA I could lean better in this direction
The problem is guys like Larkin & the lack of iron leadership/will to get us in the playoffs Perhaps a full year w/ the Todfather will do it 🤷♂️
