According to Ataullah Siddiqui, just as Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) conveyed the word of God to us in the form of the Qur'an, Mary conveyed the spirit of God to humanity, in the form of Jesus (pbu them). This makes her Prophetic. Ibn Arabi, the classical mystical scholar, concurs.

Masha'Allah, so happy that a headstone of Fatima Elizabeth Cates (1865–1900), probably the first woman to convert to Islam in Liverpool (in 1887) & treasurer of England's first mosque, has now been installed at Anfield Cemetery. She lived a life of sacrifice & struggle for Islam.
