Please exercise caution in the Columbia River Gorge this Memorial Day weekend. At around 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, our deputies received information about an injured hiker on the trail system near Latourell Falls. Based on the preliminary investigation, a 72‑year‑old woman slipped on a wet section of trail near Upper Latourell Falls, falling 15 feet. mcso.us/public-information/m…

Corbett Fire responds to another fire at Thousand Acres. This time it was a car. The car was in the Sandy River Delta area on an access road. The lock was broken on the gate. Crews extinguished the fire. This is the second fire in the park in the last two weeks.

Multnomah County taskforce has been deployed to The Dalles. Corbett Fire has sent the Oregon State Fire Marshal Water Tender to the fire. This is one of the 76 OSFM apparatus strategically placed around the state just for these types of events. Corbett Fire houses a Water Tender

Corbett Fire, AMR, and Cascade Locks Fire responded to a large accident out on I-84 today. Four people were transported with non life threatening injuries. A vehicle involved in the accident caught fire all the occupants were out of the vehicle. Conditions remain dangerous.

One westbound lane on I-84 has reopened following a major crash near Bridal Veil. There may be heavy traffic in the area for some time as congestion eases. Drive slow for road crews still working in the area. You can check road statuses at tripcheck.com @OregonDOT

I-84 crash photos show @Corbett_Fire firefighters working to extricate the injured semi truck driver. The driver was flown by helicopter to a Portland hospital. The damage is extensive and some of the load (corn) spilled onto the freeway. It will take time to clean up and clear the freeway. Postpone travel through the Gorge if possible.

This Morning Corbett Fire was called out to Vista House for a fire on the cliff. Crews quickly went to work. Sending a firefighter rope tech over the side with a hose line to extinguish the fire. Fire works are suspected as the cause.

Happening now! I-84 EB @ mp 36. Semi truck caught fire and started a small grass fire. Corbett and Cascade Locks Fire have stopped the grass fire, semi fire, and are in the overhaul phase. US Forest service and ODOT are on scene. Expect delays.

As part of the conflagration to the #LarchCreekFire in Wasco County, we sent four task forces from Clackamas, Linn, Multnomah, and Washington counties. This video from Corbett Fire District 14 is one of the new Engine Program water tenders headed out on its first conflagration.

Conditions on the Sandy River can be dangerous! Always wear a life jacket when you are swimming or floating in the river. Life jackets are free to borrow at kiosks at popular parks and boat ramps at Glenn Otto Park, Oxbow Regional Park, & Dodge Park.
