Black gay bars are closing while everybody profits off Black queer culture. Ballroom gets copied, our slang gets recycled, our aesthetics get monetized, & suddenly non-Black people are the face of “Black gay” events. How do u consume the culture but erase the people who built it?

You just hate that you became the white man’s poster child for bigotry because now they can turn to you and say “even Black people agree with us! Look at this one!” But we TOLD you that would happen. We literally kept telling you to leave us alone because this would be one of the things that would happen. You were too busy getting paid to attack us though.

"I was on Capitol Hill, and everybody ran up to take pictures with me from every congressional office. And I just take pictures with whoever asked... At first, it was CBC people. Then here comes Lauren Boebert and she said, ‘Can I get a picture?’ And I had already taken 40 pictures. I didn’t want to say no in front of everybody, but I didn’t know the phrase ‘I respectfully decline.’ So I just took the picture. And then she posted the picture and says something to the effect of, ‘Just two people that know that it’s just two genders.’ Just instantly, like, weaponized or politicized. If Jesse Jackson had a "tense relationship with the political order" why were former presidents invited to his funeral at all? It seems Jesse Jackson Jr. and his family wanted to present the legacy of the radical Jesse Jackson but also get acceptance from the errand boys of the ruling class, i.e. presidents. Now they want to have it both ways and complain about the people they invited? FYI, I don't know what any of them said, I never had any plans to watch.

I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers on other sections, and today is my last day. certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

Yet to this day, the Congressional Black Caucus—the long-standing corps of lawmakers dedicated to safeguarding civil rights (and known as “the conscience of Congress”)—has not issued a formal declaration condemning Israel; it hasn’t even produced a statement calling for a ceasefire. The CBC’s silence isn’t accidental: More than half of its current 61 members have been endorsed or funded by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the powerful US lobbying arm for Israel’s agenda. In the 2023–24 election cycle alone, AIPAC endorsed 26 of the caucus’s members, raising $4.6 million for them and another $3.5 million for Black Democratic candidates.
