Due to wind and time constraints, some of the prep work required to lift the modules will be carried out this weekend. That may include Sunday 19 January. However, our teams will be working as hard as they can to avoid this and keep any disruption to a minimum.

Each module will be craned into place. Weather dependent, we expect this first phase of lifting to take around a week. The use of cranes means there will some noise on and around the construction site at St Mary’s Community Hospital.

The lifting of the modules that will make up part of the new Isles of Scilly Integrated Health and Social Care Facility is set to start from Monday 20 January. The units will sit on top of the newly laid concrete foundations, which arrived on the islands at the end of last year.

From Monday 13 January, Launceston Community Hospital's main entrance will be closed to allow for essential roofing work. During these works, the side entrance will be the temporary main entrance. Signage will be available to direct patients, visitors and staff.

The roofing work will take around 4 to 6 weeks. There will also be some changes to waiting room space. Our staff will support you as needed. We apologise for any inconvenience.
