Mr Jaffer Lutalo is fighting a land dispute involving a title held by Hon Bassajja Iddi which, according to records and proceedings Mr Jaffer lutalo have relied upon, the fake lake land title owned currently by Hon iddi Bassajja was allegedly created from non-existent lease minutes. KDLB reportedly confirmed the cited lease minute does not exist, and Ministry records allegedly show no premium or ground rent payments linked to the title. The dispute has attracted public attention because it involves individuals with significant political, business, and social influence. Bassajja Iddi is a serving public figure and Member of Parliament, while Girisch M. Nair is a prominent businessman and diplomat with substantial interests and influence in Uganda. Their involvement has intensified concerns about whether ordinary citizens can effectively defend their property rights when disputes arise against powerful and well-connected individuals. On 22 Feb 2026, about 20–25 armed men allegedly stormed the property, fenced it off, threatened occupants, and claimed they were acting on instructions from Bassajja Iddi. Despite complaints to Kira Road Police, IGG, Permanent Secretary Lands, Anti-corruption Unit, and ongoing proceedings, Mr Jaffer Lutalo the victim never received the protection he expected. Then An interim court order was later issued declaring Bassajja Iddi in possession and he attempted to use it to evict Mr JafferLutalo, despite lutalo's long-standing occupation of the land, Mr Lutalo now wonders how that order was issued in his absence.
