It's 3.45am and I'm still awake, preparing a report on grooming.
Even after more than a decade running Predator Awareness, some of the figures still stop you in your tracks.
In the year ending March, there were around 210,000 recorded sexual offences in England and Wales. That's just one single year!
For comparison, the prison estate in England and Wales has capacity for around 88,000 prisoners and is already operating at or near full capacity.
If all those arrested during that year are convicted we would need to empty every prison in the country and still find space for a further 122,000 people just to give them a custodial sentence.
The scale of the problem is impossible to ignore, and it's one of the reasons this work remains as important today as it was when I started over a decade ago.
Anyway, back to the report. Looks like another all-nighter.
