To be fair, Niantic's higher-ups were prioritizing advancements in geo-location technology over player experience. Decoupling the dev team from this will open the floodgates to better gameplay (at least, it should)
Gonna give my thoughts over these leaks about Hyper Training potentially coming to Pokémon GO....
Why does it only take a game to be sold by an actual gaming company for them to implement a GREAT feature from the mainline games?
Im really excited for Hyper-Training to come to Pokémon GO. I just hope it's balanced and accessible for everyone.
If you didn't know, the main lines games have 2 different Bottle Cap items which you can exchange to hyper train will do different effects
When you exchange a regular bottle cap (silver), you can hyper-train only 1 of your Pokémon's Stats
When you exchange a Gold Bottle Cap, you can hyper train ALL of your Pokémon's Stats all at once (so 6 Regular Bottle Caps in 1)
When reading the leaks about the feature in GO, I do hope with tasks you will be able to earn regular bottle caps for Free if it does mean it will take some time to do so. Which will make sense if you really want your favourite Shiny Pokémon to be a shundo
And if they want to monetise the feature, I do hope they would just give us the Gold Bottle Cap, so if you want ALL of your Pokémon's IVs to be maxed fast. The Gold Bottle Cap could be an item they could add to future GO Passes to replace the lucky trinket
The argument over this feature will be 'this will make hundos and shundos not rare now', which is totally valid. Im not really that bothered tbh. If hyper-training is a feature which takes a lot of time and effort to hyper-train 1 IV to one of your Pokémon, then I do think catching a Hundo or Shundo is always be rare.
When you hyper-train a Pokémon in the mainline games, the stat which you hyper-trained will say Hyper Trained when you check the Pokémon's IVs. And GO could be the same thing for hyper-training
If you hyper-trained any of a Pokémon's stats, instead of saying Attack / Defence / Stamina, it will be replaced with Hyper Trained. Something like that would be great to keep the rarity of caught Hundos and Shundos variable.
Anyway, that's my thought.
Btw, if GO does NOT bring back James for when this feature goes live, I swear to GOD serious talks will be happening!😤
