40 years ago today. Less than 30 days later, UTCM was released to theaters, including an instr. mix of “It’s A Wonderful Day”, the 3rd song from this daring double LP configuration. Bass Drum Pounds...“She just doesn't know what she wants...Don’t you know I’ll slap the waves...!”
RT from 4-21-20. Still one of the best things I've seen in the past 10 years. Thank you @JOSHUAWORLD and @HannahJWelton.

I usually don't like most of these kind of projects, but caught a little of this one and to quote Movie Star, "Actually this one's not bad, check it out."
("So, you like environmental records?")
Condolences, love and prayers to @TheMorrisDay of @theoriginal7ven on the loss of his Mom, LaVonne Daugherty. As important as she was in the history of Grand Central and beyond, hard to believe this might be the first photo I've seen of her.
Must have been so special for P to have Chaka & Stevie performing this 2nd LP song with him live. So special for me seeing P play the horn line bridge on guitar. “I created a different kind of horn section by multi-tracking a synthesizer and some guitar lines” –Prince, Apr. 1978
So sorry to hear that Jellybean Johnson passed. Condolences to his fam. His live drumming on The Bird will always be dope. His legacy of music & always being approachable & cool will live on. When I first saw him playing in Mpls he played guitar & wore a Univ of Minnesota hoodie.
Found out it's not Chris Moon, it's Roger Dumas! He programmed synthesizers for Prince from day one of P working in a pro studio. It was cool meeting Roger at his music store in Hopkins back in the day.

We’ve all heard Eric Leeds say that a lot of what of he played on with P wasn't really his thing, and it can get tiring to hear. But here he lays out his admiration for the remarkable musician Prince was in no uncertain terms. He takes a backseat to NO one in his admiration.
So sorry to hear that Pepé Willie passed a few days ago. He did so much for Prince and his book was one of the best. Some gr8 tracks on the 94 East Minneapolis Genius and Symbolic Beginning albums, including the practice sessions. Much love and RIP Pepé.

So sad to hear about Tyka's passing!! Sending ❤️, prayers & condolences to all of the family.🕊☔️💐✝️ This is what she posted on 4-21-16. I remember when she came on stage & sang For You at the Official Tribute Concert on 10-13-16. Always loved hearing about her being at Paisley.
Was suspicious of Edelman. Netflix was working w/Ava DuVernay, whose vision was to make a docu literally using P's speaking voice. Edelman had his vision–not necessarily a Prince fan. I could sense his frustration. He had expectations & I didn’t meet them. app.startribune.com/story/60…
