How to recognise a real copywriter in the crowd of so-called content specialists and brand startegists? The answer may surprise you. Primarily, copywriters aren't writers. They are salespeople. When they write, they write to make a sale or to shine a light on why your brand is better than the competition. Which means not every writer is a copywriter. Here are various levels of copywriters and how to recognise them-- ๐—ข๐—ฟ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ง๐—ฎ๐—ธ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€ - They don't ask you questions. You tell them what you wish to communicate, and they will do it for you. They will expand your generic-- "we are better than the rest'-- message into a full-blown blog. They will charge you for the number of words they write, so expect a lot of fluff. ๐—–๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐˜†๐˜„๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€ - They will ask you about your target audience. When you tell them that your product is better than others, they will cross-check why you are good. They will note everything diligently and then will write something convincing. Again, they will charge you for the number of words, with a higher cost per word. ๐—˜๐˜…๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜ ๐—–๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐˜†๐˜„๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€ - They will ask you about your competitors. They will study the market scenario themselves. They will ask questions about your target audience, what they do, and what their pain points are. They will read through any research that you might have done. They will work on insights that you might not have found yourself. They will make your brand stand out in the marketplace. They won't charge per word. They ask for a hefty fees and get it. ๐—–๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐˜† ๐—ช๐—ถ๐˜‡๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฑ๐˜€ - They are uncomfortable to work with. Once you tell them all the great things about your product, they turn the focus onto your weaknesses. They will ask penetrating questions and force you to confront your weak spots. This breed will not accept your brief as is. A copy wizard will talk to your customers to find out why exactly they prefer your brand over the competition. And, they will ask people why they don't buy your products! These copywriters will actually help you improve your product and sharpen your offerings. They are like detectives who will cull the hidden truths from the hearts and minds of your customers. Then they process all this in the crucible of their creative minds. They distill it into a BIG IDEA-- A frame that will give your brand a new meaning. You are lucky to have such a copywriter. You don't negotiate with them because you cannot pay them enough. They overdeliver and impact your business for years. So when someone approaches you claiming to be a copywriter, focus on their questions. That will tell you who they are. And if you wish to work with a Copy Wizard, they will not approach you. You must look out for them and win them over. #CopyWriting #Advertising #BrandBuilding

The Earth looks mostly blue from space. That blue is water, and covers 71% of our planetโ€™s surface. But hereโ€™s the catch: 97% of that water is salty ocean water. Only 3% is freshwater. And of that little 3%, over 2/3 is locked away in ice caps and glaciers. Which means, less than 1% of all Earthโ€™s water is accessible as surface or groundwater. This tiny fraction supports all life on land. Abundance is often an illusion. #WaterDay #Life

Along with reading, going out for walks and traveling is also important. You donโ€™t want to end up being just a book nerd. Some lessons are learned only when you actually do things.

Is reading one page so difficult? No, itโ€™s easy. But do you know why people donโ€™t read? Because they think about finishing the whole book instead of just reading the next page. And how do you finish a book quickly? By reading for hours consistently. And who reads for hours? The one who has been reading consistently for years. How did they build that habit? They started with one page.
