I was really surprised by how obvious Gabi’s gender envy of Lestat was in this episode. So much of what had been said made it sound as though all of that had been eliminated, but to me it was still all over the place in their human interactions.

i genuinely don’t think gabistat has been changed by that much in the adaptation thus far. gabriella has a far more consciously sinister attitude to her, but most of the aspects of their relationship are still there.

The Baudelaire poem that Lestat has set to music is La Fontaine de Sang from Les Fleurs du Mal. It’s a perfect choice and says so much that he’s not willing to say directly in his narration. This is a pretty good translation imo.

As with many other elements & characters in these books, there’s a hell of a lot of subjectivity in Gabi’s portrayal that can be read in multiple ways.

😖it’s kind weird how everyone calls these episodes filler episodes when they truly have a lot of detail but you just need to rewatch to catch it also this is a television adaptation you can’t ask for every single minuscule detail to be told to you you need to figure it out
