I want to continue making a few improvements tonight. The campaign map is almost good enough to start playtesting.

First encounter in the campaign map testing! 200 orcs! This dialogue option has to pass, or we are DEAD!

Fast progress. Now I only need to verify 37800 data entries. LOL

The campaign map is a HUGE undertaking. Even mapping the possible 37800 squares to the correct terrain type is a month-long full-time job. Now, enter local multimodal AI models, and we can make it intelligently procedural. Let's see if we can make this work. And then we can work on the UI and the graphics.

I HATE READING TEXT in RPGs. It feels like immersion breaks, I'm suddenly in a book, rather than a game, and the year is somehow 1994. I know Google Cloud Text To Speech is not perfect, but it is tolerable to my ears and in my opinion, 1000 times better than reading.

I game SO little these days. And when I do, I feel it would be more rewarding to work on my own game. And then I think of how fun it would be to play if it were totally completed and not just a beta early access. And then I get back to thinking, what would I then do for fun and entertainment?

Big black hypnotic eels ... It started raining 2 years ago and hasn't stopped since. In the beginning, it was just wet and annoying. Now, everything is mud. And as if the rain and the mud weren't enough, the black eels started showing up ... and everything got a lot stranger

I say on to the @TheBillyWest What an absolutely horrible, inhumane and entitled way to think. May your ass forever be itchy and your arms eternally be too short to reach.
Saying the quiet part out loud. After an online hate mob bullied Jorge R. Gutierrez out of using AI, voice actor Billy West chimes in and tells us the real reason: The collapse of the barrier to entry is not acceptable. Only established artists are allowed to create.

This makes me want to give the source code for my game to all buyers ... I need to find the best way to make the game not need a central server. I will go to work on this.

Mixtape is not a game! It's a slightly interactive movie with an expensive soundtrack ... Are game journalists and vegans identical?

“Diplomacy” in old-school RPGs usually means: Nobody speaks the language The wizard has 3 Charisma One wrong dialogue choice starts a bloodbath And somehow, those become the moments you remember for years. I really wanted these encounters in Creatures & Chronicles to feel awkward, human, and slightly dangerous instead of “click the correct blue response.” Sometimes the hardest fight is a conversation.

A very, very underrated channel with awesome content. Now demonetised, because AI was used to produce the voices and graphics. But the show is SO much more than that. I do not know how to explain how deep the characters and the story are. And it's not making it easier by them being depicted by real-life controversial personalities, with whom they share very little in this strange D&D 5e universe. I have been listening every Friday since episode one! The viewers and listeners should decide is content is worth ad revenue. Not YouTube!
One screenshot. YouTube's own dashboard. Same channel, within two days Three days ago YouTube demonetised my channel of 154 episodes for "inauthentic content - mass produced." My appeal came back denied yesterday. The same week, YouTube's own analytics tool generated this assessment of my latest episode: "performing exceptionally well... an outlier in the best possible way." I've spent 3 years, working 50-70 hours per week building a serialised D&D campaign in an original world, with an audience of 1,250 paying supporters across BOTH YouTube Patreon, 500 of whom are now being cut off from supporting what they love, losing membership badges they've held for 2 years. If nothing else, this is unfair to them, and the damage is done. The denial cites "similar template across multiple videos" as the reason. That criteria applies to every podcast, every gameplay channel, every long-form actual play show on YouTube. I'd genuinely like to understand what specifically distinguishes my work from the formats YouTube actively recommends. The denial also says I can reapply in 90 days "after making changes." But the same email says they can't tell me which videos triggered the decision. You can't fix what you can't identify. And at the risk of repeating myself, what good does that do for the woman who has been with the channel for 1 year 8 months, or the man for 2 years 5 months? Nothing. They're two of the 500 people now being cut off from supporting work they love, through no decision of their own. Or mine. To @TeamYouTube - please open this case for human review. Every cited claim has been addressed with evidence in the replies below. To my audience - please be respectful and polite if you engage. The work continues. I'll see you all Friday on Patreon. - Lewis / TheAIGuy (7 receipts in replies. Audio. Cinematic. Editing. Performance. Audience. Music licensing. The broken process.)

"Stupid pale-face come to die!" ... And it didn't end favourably either

The quest system is almost functional. Thanks to the new AI model from OpenAI and Anthropic, with the little time I have on my hands, huge progress has been made. I do not know how I would have ever made a custom dialogue editing solution with a full quest system, vendor shops with haggling, mini games, and more, all affected by the mood, moral differences between characters, spells, and character abilities and proficiencies. On top of that. NPC can even be entirely AI-inhabited. And the AI will play the personality of the AI and give quests of their own. I am a little delayed, because with all the automated testing scripts and instructions a complete custom simulation environment built for AI models to run code tests and E2E gameplay tests the project has reached nearly 10GB of data. I am developing a harness and a new development environment to make it easier and quicker for me and the AI models to search, review and edit the code.

I am working on adding camp banter. The characters in your party will talk to each other and discuss subjects while they are camped. The banter and talking will make use of the full knowledge and impersonation of the character with memory, the full character sheet, and moral values. I would expect your Paladin and Assassin to get into heated debates. Looking forward to testing it soon.

Custom dialogue is generated for all encounters. Monsters are given custom personalities based on the stats and environment. The new thing is the language barrier. If your character doesn't speak the language, it will be hard to have a conversation.
