Every cancer patient I’ve met dislikes the “battle” analogies. It implies that whose who die from cancer didn’t “fight” hard enough. Sometimes the treatments work, sometimes they don’t. We the patients are lucky or unlucky. That’s all.
"People need to know that the onus is not on them. If this had happened to me 10 years ago, I would not have lived."
