I think England are taking the expression peaking at the right time too literally. Another tight game against an associate side. I'm not sure they can magically turn the tap on and play brilliantly from The Super 8's onwards.

The main thing is that England won and are still in the tournament but I am concerned that we've looked very ordinary throughout. They do say never peak too soon at tournaments but it doesn't look like we can go up any more gears. Now for another victory Vs Scotland in the rugby

Congratulations Zimbabwe, first shock of that tournament. I met one of the heroes, last year at Trent Bridge.

That Italy result really put our struggles against Nepal into perspective and also put us below Italy in the table.

The brute fact is that we aren't very good. We'll have to break our duck against European sides to get through , even then, with this attack it's not looking good in the Super 8`s.

That was exciting a good series win, overall. I thought Brook captained well. As most of us have said, T20 is definitely England's best format as it suits their 1 dimensional style. I suspect they'll be beaten semi finalists in The WC but do have a good chance of winning it.

The fact that international cricket has to gerrymander every bloody World Cup group so that India plays Pakistan is a sign of weakness not strength, may be now we could start to make actual draws for all groups (blind or seeded) like in every other sport. espncricinfo.com/story/pakis…

Root is a class act. Not sure if anyone will remember this series in months to come, let alone years, however,it was a vital win in terms of World Cup qualification. Now for the T20 series more importantly the T20 WC, our best format and probably the only one where we can excel

Great day for England, won a match and a Test playing nation pulling out of our T20 WC group. This is probably as good as it gets. I think I'll have Custard Cream to celebrate.

The likes of Sam Billings and Michael Vaughan talking about the decline of the English ODI team is pretty hard to take, given their support for and promotion of the very thing that caused it, The 100.

Not only has Baz failed to win a big Test series in 4 years but he's now added worst ODI coach, ever, to his CV. We seriously might not qualify for The World Cup. If The ECB won't do anything, parliament might have to step in.

Funny enough the last England captain to win an Ashes series (he won two) was Sir Alastair Cook, a person Morgan wanted sacked.
The @englandcricket performance has improved, and been way more entertaining, under @benstokes38 @Bazmccullum @robkey612 than their predecessors. We played badly in this series & got a deserved thumping by Australia, but they should be given the chance to win them back in 2027.

It's almost 4 years, which is a big sample size the brute fact is that all Key/Baz/Stokes has produced is an incredibly limited arrogant mid table side. This has been made worse by a client media which has synthetically promoted them in order to gain access to exclusives.
