Alabama looked all out of sorts at the plate today. From the poor approaches to the ineffective results, the Crimson Tide were held in check all game long. Coming into Omaha, the offense appeared to be hitting its stride. Today was a different story. Alabama went 5/30 and scored no runs. While the pitching was certainly subpar, the hitting was far worse. Charles Schwab Field typically favors teams that hit for power. Oklahoma hit the ball well today, but they had one home run. Nothing unworldly. Their bats were certainly hot, but it did not dictate the outcome of this game. Alabama’s inability to work counts, make solid contact, and get runners on base was the ultimate downfall. While this one definitely stings, it still isn’t the end all, be all. Pitching is critical, but the bats being absent must change if Alabama wants any chance to stay alive. That’s the bottom line. Roll Tide!

Moments ago, Alabama softball picked up a commitment from Iowa State transfer catcher Karlee Ford (@KarleeFord2). Ford made 55 starts behind the plate for the Cyclones in 2026. She held a .983 fielding percentage and a 42% caught stealing percentage. At the plate, she finished with a .345 batting average with 10 home runs and 49 RBIs in addition to holding an impressive .626 slugging percentage. With Marlie Giles and Alexis Pupillo graduating, Ford becomes a crucial piece of Alabama’s ‘27 roster. Huge news for the Crimson Tide this weekend!

2026 NJCAA National Player of the Year Noelani Livingstone has signed with Alabama. The British Columbia native spent two seasons at Florida Southwestern State College. During that time, Livingstone amassed a .479 batting average with eight home runs and 88 RBIs in addition to recording 64 stolen bases on the base paths. In the NJCAA Softball World Series this year, Livingstone finished 11/20 (.550) and earned All-Tournament Team honors. Huge pickup for Patrick Murphy and co.!

The state of Alabama has been flooded with elite talent over the years. In the last decade, the No. 1-ranked recruits in the state have come from schools ranging as far east as Phenix City to as far west as Gordo. Here is a look at the top-ranked recruits in the state in the last decade and where they ended up signing:

Alabama extended an offer to 2029 QB Elston Hooper (@ElstonHooper808) on Tuesday evening. Hooper transferred to Pleasant Grove (AL) this offseason by way of Konawaena (HI). He is listed 6-feet tall and 180 pounds. Other schools that have offered Hopper include North Alabama, Sacramento State, and Middle Tennessee State.

Former Alabama MIF Cobie Vance (@CFV_1) has been hired as the new head baseball coach at St. Anne Pacelli’s Catholic School (GA). Vance spent three seasons at Alabama. He made 168 starts for the Crimson Tide and was selected in the 18th round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the Oakland A’s. After retiring as a player in 2022, Vance worked for the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (2024-2025) and the Columbus Clingstones (2025) in business operations. The North Carolina native will take over for a squad that is coming off a 7-26 season in GIAA Class 4A. It will be Vance’s first-ever stint as a high school baseball coach.
