I think IGN gave it a better score than Mario Kart World just out of spite.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has a fantastic roster, excellent courses, and lengthy list of customization options.

ALT Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds fires on all cylinders with a fantastic lineup of tracks, a huge, 24 character roster, and a generationally great soundtrack to accompany them. The racing itself feels fast yet intuitive, and there are plenty of modes that entertained my friends and me for hours. Score: 9

I think a reason for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds possible future success (praise & sales) is because of Mario Kart World. Gamers who don’t have a Switch 2 will need a game to champion for & get behind especially now when MKW recently released, even if they are in different leagues.
