140 years ago today, 19th April 1882 is the day commemorated for the ‘Battle of the Braes’, land rights struggle, in the Isle of Skye. My great grandparents, Neil Buchanan and his wife Mary MacPherson were crofters at Peinachorran in Braes at the time.

The Auditor General's report on the Crofting Commission is pretty grim reading - hoped this sort of shenanigans was a thing of the past. Does this third time show that the structure doesn't work? Sort it out and get on with the job of regulating crofting. Good luck!
