Crosswalk request: "This is an intersection right across from a busy school … I never feel safe (and hate seeing moms having to run with/hurry their children even when they have the right of way)." Two crosswalks marked at Council and Westmoreland in Koreatown.

Crosswalk request: “This is the second time I’ve been hit by a car here. Very dangerous intersection, down the street from 2 preschools and an elementary school.” Crosswalk painted at Willoughby & Formosa in Hollywood. The stopline was faded so we touched that up too.

There were no crosswalks at this Boyle Heights intersection by a preschool, elementary school, high school, and local park. And thanks to its location at the bottom of a hill, cars approach at high speed and often run the stop signs. Two crosswalks painted at Fickett & E. 7th.

In 1988, two women were killed crossing Beachwood in Hollywood. The city decided a reasonable response to these deaths was to install two stop signs, and zero crosswalks. 35 years later, little has changed: someone almost got hit as we were arriving to paint this crosswalk.

This cyclist was killed one block from where Gabriela Futsi was killed, where we put in two crosswalks (which LADOT removed) and where LADOT put in a memorial plaque 7 years after her death. Maybe in 7 years LADOT will put in another memorial plaque for him.

Gabriela Futsi was killed crossing here in 2016. After 7 years, LADOT took action: They installed a memorial sign. We painted two crosswalks on April 10 and within days, they removed them. So remember: Your family members? Expendable. A bit of paint? Now that’s an emergency.

This location has been requested three times through our crosswalk form. We didn't put one in because it felt too unsafe. It's disgraceful how many LA parks can't be safely accessed by pedestrians and cyclists.

No More Ghost Bikes helped almost 100 people cross Stadium Way safely today. Why the f do we have a 6 lane highway crossing through a park with no safe place for anyone to cross…? What a great show of traffic violence we got while sitting there 🫠

INVESTIGATION 🌳 UPDATE: StreetsLA has informed us that they are issuing a citation in the amount of $250 (first-time offense) to Universal Studios. The citation alleges a violation of trimming trees without a city permit. Outdated laws limit penalties the City can issue.

On Saturday LA hustled out its crews for the important work of … removing crosswalks kids use to get to school. They made sure not to fix the streetlight that's been broken for months so now it will be extra unsafe. Wow, LA, great job!

Following the recent death and destruction visited on families walking to school, we’ve focused on school-related requests. Traffic control on this one was hairy but we got it done: Two new crosswalks at 22nd & Union in University Park. #CrosswalkCollective
