India Issues Over 44,000 VDA Tax Notices, Finds $104M in Undisclosed Income According to The Economic Times, India's 2026 crypto tax season is seeing stricter enforcement. Virtual digital asset (VDA) gains remain taxed at 30%, while eligible transfers are subject to a 1% tax deducted at source (TDS). Investors must report each trade, swap and disposal under Schedule VDA. The report said exchanges, custodians and wallet providers are now required to submit user-level transaction data to India's Income Tax Department for automated cross-checking against investor filings. The department has issued more than 44,000 VDA-related notices and identified over Rs 888 crore ($104 million) in undisclosed VDA income.

Quantstamp: Humanity Hack That Moved 141M H Shows Signs of North Korean Hackers Humanity Protocol released Quantstamp’s investigation into the June 8 H token security incident. According to the report, attackers gained remote access to a director’s device through a phishing attack, copied wallet data and private keys, then upgraded the Ethereum H token contract and moved approximately 141.18 million H tokens. On BNB Smart Chain, the attackers also took control of a ProxyAdmin contract and minted additional H. Quantstamp said the tooling and certificate-signing patterns observed in the attack are characteristic of DPRK-linked intrusions.

Blockworks Acquires Messari for Over $10 Million, Far Below Its 2022 Valuation According to WSJ, crypto data and research platform Blockworks has acquired rival Messari for more than $10 million, according to a person familiar with the matter. Messari was valued at approximately $300 million during its Series B funding round in 2022. The deal comes after a period of management changes and restructuring at Messari.
