The ancient Walls of Benin (Nigeria ๐ณ๐ฌ) were once the longest known earthworks of the pre-mechanical era.
Construction spanned centuries (c. 800โ1400 AD) and took an estimated 150 million labour hours.
Most of it was destroyed during the British invasion.
