Nobody asked, and I think these are mostly good changes, but I don't see how this makes low star, higher rarity cards worth anything.
My top of the head proposal for that, in conjunction with these changes below, would be to add something like star caps per rarity level.
Something like this, where you cap the cards to 5 (maybe 4?) stars when a new rarity level is introduced to each league.
Not only should that increase demand for mid-low star cards at higher rarity levels, but it should create some more interesting decision points when trying to set a lineup.
The downside is a slightly more compliated ruleset, of course, but the game already has a high enough learning curve that this probably doesn't impact onboarding much.
