I’ve gotten a ton of wind damage reports from the afternoon storms, but the hardest hit areas were likely Sherman and New Fairfield as far as widespread damage. Photos below. There were also notable but isolated downdrafts that occurred in Bethel, Redding Ridge, Watertown, Newtown (Stevenson), Oxford and Branford. These all originated from the same two core clusters. At 6:26PM this strong to severe storm is entering CT. This has a history of producing damaging wind gusts and hail. Please take cover in extreme Northern Fairfield and Southern Litchfield Counties. Kent Sherman Gaylordsville New Milford Warren Washington Depot There is a chance this storm keeps back-building to the south. Keep a close eye on it across Greater Danbury.
