In my view, an emerging junior tennis player should participate in 120 matches throughout the year, including practice matches. This equates to playing three matches every week for a period of 40 weeks. The matches should be distributed as follows: 50% at the player's current level, 25% against higher-level players, and 25% against lower-level players. It's highly beneficial for juniors to play more matches with present and past college players. It's always a good idea to record the match, plot it, and review it with your coach.
