Fantastic to see SA unis taking steps towards #betterpay for #PhDstudents. We congratulate them. However, more support is needed for postgrad students to completely focus on their research without having to work extra jobs to make ends meet indaily.com.au/news/2022/12/… @DoctorKarl

Ph.D. Students is typically paid two-thirds of the minimum wage, definitely less than an Apprentice in a Trade. (Apprentice Scientists are paid much less than Apprentice Tradies. Both are needed in our society.) They need better financial support. We should invest in the future.

Did you know that #phdstudents in Australia earn less than minimum wage, and some are living just above the poverty line? Our apprentice scientists earn far less than apprentice tradespeople. CureCell aims to address this pay gap: curecell.org
