Throwback Thursday to 1975! πŸ“Έβœ¨ The year the Library introduced polaroid photo ID for students (6,334 student members) and was open 7 days a week – both for the very first time. This was a groundbreaking move at the time. Fast forward to today, and look how far we’ve come! πŸš€

Two prime ministers: a newly re-digitised image from our collection: Prime Minister John Curtin (our namesake!) being met by the High Commissioner Stanley Bruce in London in April or May 1944. Bruce was PM in the 1920s and a former political opponent of Curtin's.
