Hmmm @CycleRandR @CyclingSurrey there seems to be some actual enforcement of yellow lines going on. Not taken in the more troublesome areas so it might just be the easy ones they're going after but its a start. If only the govt had done something on pavement parking...

Dutch design manuals specifically warn against bordenwouden (“sign forests”); the overuse of traffic signage resulting in visual clutter.
Rather they emphasize a far more effective way to achieve the desired behavior: engineering of self-explaining and -enforcing infrastructure.

Another school run on the bike recording #carsincyclelanes in Redhill and Reigate. To top it off I was overtaken & close passed while turning right. I had signalled, was positioned on the right of the lane, and would’ve turned 3s later but that was obviously too long to wait.

Recently, @SurreyCouncil have ripped out a cycle lane after 48 hours, lost millions in active travel funding because of their chaotic mismanagement and are now opposing ULEZ expansion
