We are incredibly proud to cheer and perform in Jack Trice Stadium on football Saturdays! We #cyclones take so much pride in its namesake and honor the tradgedy of his death every day. #cyclonecheer #juneteenth #iwill
Jack Trice, the first Black athlete at Iowa State, was trampled during a football game in 1923. In 1997, the school's stadium was named after him and it remains the only major-college football stadium named for a Black man: bit.ly/3fG3naM
