KZN ON HIGH ALERT: SEVERE WEATHER WARNING
The South African Weather Service has issued a Yellow Level 4 warning for severe weather in KwaZulu-Natal, effective Sunday, November 10, from 15:00 to 23:00. A powerful storm system is expected to bring torrential rains, damaging winds, and intense lightning to many areas.
AREAS IMPACTED: Durban (CBD, Berea, Chatsworth, Pinetown, Queensburgh, Umlazi, and more), Pietermaritzburg (CBD, Hayfields, Scottsville, and more), Port Shepstone, Richards Bay, Ladysmith, Newcastle, Kokstad, Underberg, Harding, and surrounding regions.
⚡EXPECTED IMPACTS:
● Winds up to 100 km/h, gusting to 120 km/h
● Severe lightning, with potential power outages
● Heavy downpours, up to 40mm or more, with flash flooding
● Large hail, posing a threat to vehicles, crops, and structures
