June is #RainbowBookMonth. At a time when books by & about LGBTQIA & BIPOC individuals are under siege & library workers are facing threats & harassment for serving these communities, celebrating LGBTQIA voices has never been more important. bit.ly/RainbowBookMonth#PrideMonth
ALT This June, the American Library Association and libraries nationwide will celebrate Rainbow Book Month to highlight the authors and writings that reflect the lives and experiences of the LGBTQIA community.
At a time when books by and about LGBTQIA and BIPOC individuals are under siege and library workers are facing threats and harassment for serving these communities, Rainbow Book Month has never been more important.
Libraries planning celebrations will find resources from ALA’s Rainbow Round Table to support important related celebrations and events such as book clubs, author events, and other activities that highlight LGBTQIA authors, books, and resources.
If your library is experiencing challenges to materials and programs serving the LGBTQIA community, please contact the ALA Office for Intellectual Freedom to report censorship and receive resources and free confidential support.
Read with pride, in all of its colors.
