#7 Racial Equity.
While this has been an incredibly trying time for all, @DCSCORES commitment to providing safe spaces and opportunities for our poet-athletes to raise their voices and act to drive positive change has only gotten stronger.
For our entire 26 year existence, DC kids have leveraged DC SCORESβ poetry and service-learning program components to publicly speak up about and advocate for racial justice and police reform.

#6 @DCSCORES Summer Camp! This summer was the first time DC SCORES went virtual and they were able to serve more than 550 kids despite the craziness and uncertainty of COVID-19 π€©ππΏ

#5!! Due to COVID-19 @DCSCORES after school programming became virtual which meant they mailed over 2,000 kits to our poet-athletes so they could participate at home while keeping safe!
I was lucky to help pack these kits for the fall season!πβ½οΈβοΈπ

To prep for the summer & fall, DC SCORES staff & volunteers packed & mailed over 2,000 poet-athlete kits at @AudiField that had everything kids would need to fully participate in programming! π¦
