Work is underway on the bypass pipeline at Muddy Branch near Pennyfield Lock (Lock 22). Crews are mobilizing equipment & an access road has been built to support construction. Monitoring equipment is in place to detect flow changes that may indicate leakage or structural failure.

Bypass installation begins June 15. No emergency or overflow associated with this work, and no impact to drinking water.

Emergency rehab work begins June 15 on a section of the Potomac Interceptor near Pennyfield Lock in Potomac, MD.
