Great news! DFRS have enrolled 12 staff on a BSL course, including several of our CSO’s and so we fully welcome this Act as the right way forward! We’ll have more than 50 of our staff enrolled in the coming weeks, demonstrating that commitment.

Today we are saying a very fond farewell to our Deputy Chief Fire Officer Rick Roberts who is retiring after a long and successful career which began in @cambsfrs in 1994 before transferring to Derbyshire in 1999. Good luck & happy retirement Rick from everyone at #TeamDFRS

Mr Donald Rose, 106 years young, has served in the 7th Armoured infantry across N Africa, Europe and Middle East, awarded the French Medal of Honour, in his bucket list was to ride in a fire engine. It was our honour @DerbyshireFRS to meet him and make his wish come true today 🚒

It’s not been possible for our community safety officers to deliver fire safety education in schools so we’ve taken our lessons online. Fantastic teamwork between our graphic & communication team with @DfrsPrevention to develop & create this valuable virtual learning #TeamDFRS
