Last week the Engineer Corps completed their annual Tactical Exercise (TACEX). The Corps had a chance to practice their Combat Engineering skills, and put some new equipment through its paces, including new UAVs, Ground Clearance Systems and the new CBRN COLPRO system.

Combat Engineers from 2 Field Engineer Company based in Athlone recently conducted a recovery operation of a 12 Bay Bailey Bridge that had been deployed across the River Boyne in Trim, Co. Meath. The bridge was originally emplaced in 2022 following damage to the existing bridge.

This week, the Corps Of Engineers ran a Working In Confined Spaces (WICS) Search course as part of Ireland's participation in the EDA Military Capability development program. Students including Military and Police from Spain, Italy and Cyprus joined Irish sappers in the course.

The Corps of Engineers recently completed their annual TACEX in Lynch Camp, Co. Cork. Sappers of the Corps were put through their paces during our 96hr ground exercise. They conducted tactical training on bridging, demolitions, CBRN and a variety of combat engineering skills.
