Our law enforcement officers are facing a coordinated campaign of violence including a more than 1,300% increase in assaults and an 8,000% increase in death threats. Our officers wear masks to protect themselves and their families.

Today, @USCG announced homeporting locations for three Arctic Security Cutters (ASC) in the State of Alaska. The first two ASCs will be homeported in Kodiak, with a third ASC to be homeported in Seward when the infrastructure is ready. Strategically positioning these state-of-the-art icebreakers in Alaska will maximize our ability to defend our northern border and approaches, while reinforcing America’s maritime dominance in a crucial region of strategic importance. Fueled by $3.5B in FY25 reconciliation funding, the Coast Guard’s acquisition of ASCs continues an historic expansion of our nation’s icebreaker fleet, and underscores the United States’ leadership as a maritime power in the Arctic.
