ECISD Technology hosted our very first ever Esports Tournament today! ♥️🎮🥳 With teams from our high schools & middle schools, these kids showed up to compete! Esports is so much more than “just playing video games” and creates awesome opportunities for teamwork, collaboration & critical thinking for students. It’s so important that we create a space for all kids to belong at school and for many, they have definitely found their place with this! 🫶🏼 Also very grateful for the Esports Coaches at each school for their leadership & time. Shout out to the combined efforts of our Digital Learning & Technology Support teams. Our Ector County ISD Digital Learning Specialists kicked off our Student Centered AI Use Pilot at the #TechyTribe Ambassadors meeting. For the next several months, each teacher will choose one of these three approaches & will be teaching students to use AI in one of these ways to level up learning! 🦾🤖 During this pilot, we are hoping to gain feedback from these teachers on both the student’s experience to improve our approach & insight into what is most appropriate for each age group of students when engaging with AI. I’m super excited for them to get started & to see what we can learn.
