A1. To me, alternative assessments are assessments that really focus on the six Cs of learning - they are non traditional (ie. paper pencil tasks) and can incorporate a wide variety of other skills. Here are some assessments I regularly use with students. #NLMathChat

Orange Shirt Day should not be a called or turned into a “celebration”. It is our Remembrance Day. We honour and observe. This day represents many lost children and widespread intergenerational trauma. Its a time to learn and reflect. #EveryChildMatters

Coding with Micro:bits in the VP office! The office should NOT be viewed as a negative place to visit. Spending time with Ss, especially when they are struggling, can go a long way. Building relationships sets Ss up for success. @SMCDSB_SNC

Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end! WCDSB has been my “home” for 15 years but I have made a big life decision to switch boards and move back to my actual hometown.❤️ I am excited for my new beginning as VP at St. Noel Chabanel. @SMCDSB @SMCDSB_SNC

After 23 school months of being a #virtual VP, I am looking forward to trading in the screens of my home and school office and working in a physical school again. I can’t wait to see the beautiful faces of Ss, interact face-to-face with Ts, and hear the joy in the hallways again.

Clicking “LEAVE” on the last day of school was tough. It felt so final. This awesome group of educators rode the highs & lows of #virtual school. We still stand by our motto of “Together, we can do virtually anything”. Sending a big virtual hug to all @IsidoreVirtual. 🤗 💻
