Not exactly the difference making top 6 forward Ottawa needs. He does add to the powerplay but is fairly inconsequential at 5on5. They need a true goal scoring threat if they're genuine about competing. For some reason, they seemed more focused on adding a RHD again.

Yakemchuk's production as a D 2 in the AHL is a very encouraging sign for his future as a potential impact player. It would be very good for him to make the NHL team next year, although others in his slot have taken a bit more time (Broberg, Clarke)
