Last weekend I had the pleasure to deliver the guest lecture at the annual fundraising dinner of the Bruce Peninsula Bird Observatory. What a dedicated group of naturalists, conservationists, and bird enthusiasts! Thank you for inviting me. [📷 T. Havelka]

Yesterday morning, I noticed my students were wearing unusually nice shirts. It wasn’t until our lab meeting that I realized what was going on. It was a Hallowe'en send up; they were wearing the sort of shirts favoured by their supervisor. Hilarious! Happy Halloween, team. 🎃🐦‍⬛👕

“Every window makes a difference, if it’s a window that kills a bird.” A reporter from @TheWindsorStar found a window-killed migratory bird. He reached out to chat about window kills. Check it out: windsorstar.com/news/local-n…

One morning while recording in the Bois de Boulogne, a pair of peacocks flew up into a plane tree. They howled their piercing songs, adding their high-pitched voices to our recordings of the city soundscape. 🦚4/5
