I was getting randomly nauseaous during mornings and noons during Hessen Crash. I thought it could've been stress, but it was strange.
Turns out, that weekend I started taking zinc supplements in the morning to boost my immunity and apparently that's a fairly common side effect??
I got suspicious right now when I was getting out of bed, took the zinc and once again got hella nauseaous literally out of nowhere. One quick google search later and I think I really did find the cause.
Thank you mom for your incredible health tips.
Operation France 1 underway.
Made it to the hotel in Lyon. I'm still tired from Hessen Crash, I somehow lost the case for my earphones and I don't play Mr. Karate.
Weekend off to a rough start...
Back from Frankfurt and @2becommunity's HessenCrash.
I wish I did better
I wish I was stronger
I will keep pushing
9th place. I am not happy yet.
I am happy and proud about the twins though. At least I can enjoy their success with them!
GGs and cya in Lyon
Disappointing tournament performance but still such a good time at Hessen Crash. Meeting so many ancient Xrd gamers I didn't expect to see again and the whole COTW gang being a joy to talk to as always made the weekend well worth it.
Now 3 days at home and then Lyon...
Can't sleep, too many thoughts in my head.
I think this is one of the reasons I just struggle with playing multiple tournaments. I feel I am strong at managing my mental during sets themselves, but outside of game the tournament weekends overwhelm me so much.
The mental and physical toll a tournament takes for me is just huge. I don't do well with travelling, it takes so much effort to keep my mental game in check and a tournament weekend can just drain me for 2 weeks.
Curious in what state I will arrive in at The Mixup next weekend.
Seems like I can't get a top 8 at Hessen Crash in COTW.
Out at 9th, lost to Alioune in a really good set ended with another input interpreter patch incident and vs NaiWang I went into the set way too wildly.
Both matches could've gone differently easily, but what can you do.
Slightly heartbreaking losses, but that's just how it is in a competition this strong.
I don't think I played badly in general, which is important.
Mixup next week, so I have a chance to fix this run really soon.
On my way to Hessen Crash. 7 hours by bus, Steam Deck, Gran Turismo 3, glasses in one piece. Not an awful combo.
Buying an LCD Steam Deck in October before they got sold out and price got increased really was a pretty good idea for trips like these.
New idea for Hessen Crash, handwriting my notes in a notepad. I've been thinking having something physical in front of me to stop me between games to take a moment and process things could help?
Frontpage needs no translation and a sneak peek on my expert thoughts on the Big MU.
I was thinking about what cosplay to bring for Dokomi Friday and this art suddenly showed up on my timeline a day before my departure for the event.
It gave me an idea.
I don't know how much I like Karate yet, but I'm not a huge fan of how almost all DLC characters have to have some kind of sick overhead or command grab, quite often even both at the same time?
Locking them behind stance on top of that is getting pretty old to me too.
Command grab and overheads felt quite a bit more rare with the release roster and now it seems like characters can't be released without them.
This is the second character after Joe who got a mixup stance for whatever reason. Krauser getting an overhead was also really ??? to me.
I've been noticing something with Andy. Many rounds I'm winning and then the opponent gets final SPG and turns it around.
The combination of the top tiers like Big, Preecha or Gato having insane offense Andy's offense being basic fireballs being weaker with REV blow is hard.
Overall Andy does trade the explosiveness of Gato/Big/Preecha for more control over neutral, but the combination of them final SPG does sometimes make it feel like I'm getting robbed pretty often.
It's hard to keep the control over neutral with rev blows cheap EXs.
Conclusion:
This might've honestly been more of a Final SPG rant than rant about top tiers of the current meta.
Nerf Final and Flux SPG, it's been way too long. Thanks.
