BA is a freak and I mean that as a sincere compliment. One of the most thrilling wrestlers I’ve ever watched. And more importantly a damn good human being. I’m going to thoroughly miss watching him up close. @AndonianB @HokiesWrestling

Kyle Dake with a snag single, uses it as an entry into the deep seatbelt underhook, cinches a bodylock, tries clearing his right leg then opts for the limp arm, uses right boot to stretch opp out then locks a gut wrench over the elbow to assist in collapsing his base. @wrestling

Giving up a single to attack the body is generally discouraged by coaches but if an athlete is able to lock their hands around opp's waist and is proficient controlling & using the bodylock it can be a worthwhile trade with a lot of upside (and of course some downside).

The potential upside: x.com/DPSBreakdowns/status/1…

Another inside leg block example, which results in opp's feet being swung out - this one by Kyle Dake. In this case, not only is the inside leg blocked, but it is also shelved on Dake's right thigh, making the lift even easier (6/12)

Nurkozha Kaipanov hits an elbow tie slide-by off opp's left collar tie. Feels opp leaning in, grips high up on the tricep, pivots left, contorts head away & uses tricep control to clear opp's collar tie hand while pulling forward on the head. Cool slide-by variation. @wrestling

There were 5 pins that came off turk variations at 2023 NCAA's. A turk is when the top wrestler hooks/traps the bottom wrestler's bottom leg which keeps them broken down to a hip & prevents them from hip heisting & building up their base. Full video: youtu.be/GX_gv_U99QY
