Some fantastic insights in relation to the attributes of the QB/Pivot player on this platform and some other platforms. @stephenmax2404 @NOGASPC shared his insights in the @DeelySport group 🧵Thread
The QB/Pivot - what are the key attributes of filling this role ? Most teams will have three or four player's who fill this role.

All of above is important but communication, leadership and timing of movement make it all work seamlessly.

The teams who have more players with these attributes are incredibly difficult to play against as they have so much variety in their attack, it’s much more difficult to defend against.

Bravery on the Ball 🏐 post from @Coach_Osku "Bravery is about trying the right thing at the right moment. Even if it might not work. Because football is not risk-free."
One of the most misunderstood coaching principles: Bravery on the Ball. ⚽️ Many coaches say they want creative players. Then coach the opposite. Here's what I mean 🧵 #SundayShare

As always great insights from @m_brosnan The post weekend eight observations always gives fantastic insights into how intercounty teams set up, try and utilise their strengths and exploit perceived opposition weaknesses.

Football 101 🏐🏐🏐 1. Look long before looking sort, if kick is on, kick it. 2. Catch the kick pass & repeat 1 if kick pass is on. 3. Catch the kick pass & find the back of the net. Hoping Bobby McCauls injury is not to serious.
✨MCCAUL MAGIC ✨ What a goal for Bobby McCaul, who breathes life back into this game‼️ ⏳GAME ON⏳ @monaghangaa @MayoGAA #MONvMAY

Great article from @m_brosnan looking at the Kerry v Donegal match in Killarney. "Team wins ball, team minds ball, team triumphs with ball."

Great preview during the week from @iGaelicCoach on the how Kerry would bring the Kickout Press v Donegal The half time sending off obviously changed the landscape of the game for doing the same in the second half.
Kerry’s Kickout Press v Donegal We spoke about this in our Patreon preview show how aggressive they were v Cork They were the same in the league final. We suggested Patton might get back in to bypass this. He didn’t. But he might now?

Copying intercounty teams at underage football does not help their development. Great guidance from @c
Copying elite teams is useless in youth football. Liverpool, City, and Madrid play based on world-class players in a refined system. Youth players need to learn fundamentals, not game models.

What is the perception of your player's in training and in games. Do you focus on the classic question “What should you do?” Start simpler: “What are you looking at? What should you see?” - Doug Lemov Highly recommend following @Doug_Lemov

Pods/Clusters/Stacking been used by various teams to open up space for scoring opportunities. How do you train to either implement this or counter act it defensively.

1. Kick the football, catch the football. 2. Kick the football again, catch the football again 3. Kick the football again, score a goal. Look long before playing short.
