That was quite the season. Absolute rollercoaster, and the end of so many chapters in this great sport, but perhaps also the birth of new ones. Enjoy the holidays boys and girls!

Lando Norris - a racer who, in embracing his vulnerability, has found by far his greatest strength. He never shied away from his struggles, has been honest and open about his fragility, yet fought and found the resolve to achieve his greatest dream. A champion and an inspiration.

Today, we day goodbye to Sauber, Renault engines, the DRS button, Yuki Tsunoda, ground effect, and having just 20 drivers on the grid. Big changes coming. Enjoy this race. It is the end of an era.

Have 3 mates in Abu Dhabi today, none of them with skin in the game re:title fight but all have called/texted to say how electric it is. The nature of formula 1 means we don’t get days like this often, enjoy boys and girls. It’ll be hella tense

Lots to complain about with FOM/Liberty Media but bemoaning them hyping up a 3 way title shootout where the drivers are top 3 in the grid is not the one we cannot be that miserable guys 😂

Verstappen M-H, Tsunoda H-M to try cause some chaos

Would be interesting to see if Verstappen backs the field up into Piastri and Norris but I just don’t think it’s possible in th same way as Hamilton did to Rosberg in 2016 because of the layout. It’s not impossible to overtake in Abu Dhabi now.

Rear tyre deg a major limitation here. That’s where McLaren are obliterating the field
Hamilton was 0.150s behind Piastri with only the last sector to go, that final sector must have been horrific to be knocked out

Pole sitter might have to go purple yellow purple.. tyres are screaming by sector 3

That first Verstappen run looked like it was wide out of the last corner.

🚨DOMENICALI CONFIRMS MORE THAN 6 SPRINTS Sky Sports asked directly about the possible expansion of the number of Sprints, Domenicali replied without hesitation. "Yes, there will certainly be more than six Sprints in the future."

My concern for the lad ironically is that it’ll be the opposite. See Perez 2022, Albon as the most recent examples

There is no world in which Piastri refuses team orders to let Lando win the championship by the way. That would blow up the whole team and he could lose his seat over it, come on okes

This is ridiculous. Throw that Ferrari in the bin
For the final time in 2025, here are the FP2 long runs 🇦🇪 Seems like Lando Norris up front with Max Verstappen close behind (was on a longer stint). No one else seems like they have the pace of those two so far.

Patently clear that the McLaren holds onto its rear tyres better through S3 which is where pole is often won and lost in Abu Dhabi.

Only mitigation on the race simulations is that Red Bull clearly ran higher fuel

Maybe it’s because we will have push to pass and the likes next year but surprisingly little commentary that this is the final race with the DRS system in Formula 1
