President, Direct Selling Association working every day so direct sellers can have some modest extra income to help their families and serve their communities
The vast majority of direct sellers are women. In turn, many direct selling companies are led by committed, intelligent, passionate and talented women business executives. I learn from their leadership examples every day.
DSA’s commitment to providing the best service to our customers and salespeople is embodied in our Code of Ethics and our vigorous support of the Direct Selling Self Regulatory Council of the BBB National Programs. For issues with a direct seller go to DSA.org

Great DSA discussion today on ongoing developments in the matter of FTC enforcement authority and implications for direct sellers. We support decisive actions against real frauds, but government must be reasoned and have the law on their side in enforcement actions.
Wow! Direct selling had a great 2020 by all accounts. Look for the data compiled by our outside experts soon. Great to know we could serve our communities and help people out with a little extra income during challenging times.
DSA’s role - to promote, protect, and police direct selling. That means making sure people understand the value of ds, advocating with government on issues related to ds, and enforcing the strongest standards of business ethics.
It takes over a year to become a member of DSA after review of marketing plan and documents, enquiries to consumer protection officials, and assurance of compliance with the DSA Code of Ethics. We are an inclusive association but demand adherence to the highest standards!
DSA produces many hours of content for direct selling executives interested in transition of the channel, business ethics, compliance, ethics and legal matters, research, marketing and sales information, diversity and many other topics. Interested? Go to DSA.org.

Evaluate arguments - including DSA’s - keeping in mind the motivations and goals of the speaker. If someone tells untruths, misrepresents or makes up the facts, or doesn’t admit to their agenda, question the argument. Truth, facts, & reasoned debate result in sound policy.
Sound public policy depends on robust debate using facts and opinions appropriately labeled. DSA is committed to presenting and addressing the facts, and letting you know when it’s our opinion whenever we advocate on behalf of direct sellers.
Direct sellers and DSA welcome constructive dialogue about the channel to deliver our perspective and credible data. We work with government officials, media, academics, investors and others on issues of consumer protection, customer service, economic growth and public policy.

Direct selling is open to all of course though you may not be aware that most direct sellers are women- all strong, independent people committed to helping themselves, their customers, and their communities. See our stats at DSA.org.
In a polarized political environment, there has always been bipartisan recognition of and support for the independent status of individual direct sellers. DSA is working to maintain that support for direct sellers as a way to help American families in a recovering economy.
Also this week - putting out the most accurate and fair information about how direct selling is helping people day in and day out. See DSA’s website at DSA.org.
Working this week to ensure the independent status of direct sellers. Always a big issue that most policy makers understand but sometimes gets lost in larger proposals.
