“this poem is about one
plate in the sink—but the rest—
what shall I do with the rest?”

What do an egg, a square, and a key have in common? Ben Yehuda Press!
We are proud to be launching three new poetry titles this month:
Wu Wei Eats an Egg by Lucas Hirsch, translated from the Dutch by @DSMPoet
The Broken Heart is the Master Key by Baruch November
ALT 3 New Poetry Titles Out This Month!
ALT Zion Square by Maxim D. Shrayer: “Maxim D. Shrayer’s voice speaks across generations. With a stubborn belief that poetry must be healing, Shrayer writes poems that break through boundaries and fears, accept defeat, and yearn for pleasure.”
—David Biespiel, author of A Self-Portrait in the Year of the High Commission on Love
ALT Wu Wei Eats an Egg by Lucas Hirsch: “Alternatingly enraged at and bemused by the 21st century, with its traps of bourgeois excess, addiction, and ‘hollow language,’ Hirsch regularly explores the interior self, familial history, and the physical world.”
—Wayne Miller, author of The End of Childhood
ALT The Broken Heart is the Master Key by Baruch November: “God works through the fires in the collection, inviting us to reflect on our own spiritual journeys… these poems … are courageous and vulnerable, unlocking painful and uplifting truths.”
—Jewish Book Council
“I find myself outside
of my body—watching
and narrating: 'the young widow
crosses the living room.'”

It’s over a 100 years after the great Jewish crusader for free speech, Emma Goldman, was deported from USA for her speaking out. Yet history repeats itself.
People shouldn’t be deported for speaking out.
People shouldn’t be deported for speaking out.
We mustn’t stay silent.
This has been a year of suffering in the world—and in my small world with the sudden death of my husband. This book came fast, took me over, possessed me. I can’t wait to share it with you. Thank you, Melody Stanford Martin at @Wildhouse Press, for creating this beautiful cover.
Thank you Judith Magazine & @Rachel Neve-Midbar for giving this heroic crown of sonnets a home. My love, Gershom Spruijt זיכרונו לברכה, this is a stealth tribute to you.

"If I could write just one poem, or even a single line, that my descendants (in flesh or in spirit) would want to say, then it would be worth it."

Friends, today, my debut collection is officially OUT! I’ve been thinking a lot about the journey to reach this point. The road’s had its share of bumps, but I’m SO grateful with what’s shaped both me and this book. It’s rare to witness a dream come true. This guy? Over the moon.
