Excited to attend @reindsummit this week in Detroit for my first time. I’ve heard great things from those who have previously attended.
It’s great to meet funders & founders innovating and collaborating to build the future.
If you’re attending and want to meet up, lmk.
It was a great time in LA this week. My wife and I hosted a few Family VC events.
We enjoyed meeting up with many supportive peers and meeting new ones.
The best communities are peer led and manufacture serendipity to build long term relationships amongst members.
What could go wrong...
“…when you hear fund, most families think fees and lockup. When you hear deal, it’s like, ‘Let’s make money.’”

I recently had a call where a VC wasted 23% of our meeting time by being late and then looked down most of the call while they were texting on their phone, even when they were speaking.
Most disrespectful call (out of 500 ) I’ve ever had with a VC.
Great resume on paper tho.
If you’re in VC, whether you’re a founder or co-investor, what would you value more in an investor: IQ or EQ?
I used to think IQ since I always try to surround myself with people smarter than me.
However, after meeting many Ivy league educated VCs, I’ll take high EQ over IQ!
11 million square ft with production lines next to above you, finish products that are self delivering to customers, 90% of the production already being automated and Optimus / Tesla Bots aren’t even implemented yet!
Elon and team’s creativity and engineering are inspiring!
There are many phony and inauthentic people in VC and especially the family office world.
It’s only going to get worse with the baby boomers transfer of wealth over the next decade too.
People who are genuine, authentic and ambitious are the best to collaborate with!
What is Family VC?
A collaborative community of ambitious family office peers who are allocating to VC and navigating the wild world of family office operations.
Insightful quick trip to NYC to meet up 1 on 1 with many peers and participate in the Family office roundtable session at Bloomberg Invest.
It was intriguing hearing different perspectives on private market investing, especially the varying views on the impact of AI.
